Here's a quick thought about employee retention, something I noted most recently in my blog last week.

If you are dealing with turnover or attraction problems, and you're offering more perks to try and lure people, it probably isn't working. And if you keep trying, it still won't work.

'Perks are nice, but purpose counts more' says Carmine Gallo, leadership consultant and communication expert.

The scoop is this: it doesn't matter whether your company is curing water access issues or picking up garbage. Your employees want to know that what they do day in and day out makes a difference - to someone, to anyone.

And your company wouldn't exist if it didn't. So communicate that to your employees. Let them know that their job is relevant, that it matters.

The most recent research indicates that people will spend about 54% of their adult lives working. Half their life.

Would you spend half of your life on something - anything - if you didn't know that it mattered? Probably not. And neither will they.

If you need solutions, give us a call. And that's your Tuesday quick thought.
