TQT: Multiple Streams of Data

TQT: Multiple Streams of Data
Today's quick thought is about using multiple tools to gather data.

I went to hear Michael Gurian, a leading neurologist and social scientist who studies the neurological and psychological makeup of boys, a week or so ago.

He was talking about his research and drawing some broad conclusions about his findings. He noted after one such thought, "Remember, this is in general. We are taking a snap shot of a person - human beings are very complex." Isn't that the truth.

It is a good idea to get a variety of pictures of your company and your employees. Assessements and measurements give you real, accurate data about your employees, but like all data it is static. And it is trying to measure something fluid.

There are all manner of ways to gather data about your employees, and we have tools for them: how they act, what motivates them, what their highly developed skills are.

You can gather data about your culture through culture surveys and 360's. 360's also help you with gathering data about employee performance, as well as employee perceptions. We can help you there, too.

It is important to use data as the foundation of our decision making. It is not a silver bullet, but it provides a firm, solid ground for making tough calls.

Go ahead and connect with us -  we can provide a number of solutions to help you gather data and make good decisions. And that's your Tuesday quick thought.
